Sanjay Kumar - An Introduction to Youth Leadership

Sanjay Kumar ji is a resident of Nokha Nagar in Rohtas, from where his political journey also started. Having a good leadership ability from his student life, Sanjay ji was in class VIII when he was selected as the head of the school. The ideology of doing something better for the society was in his mind from student life itself. In the year 1994, Hon'ble Chief Minister (Bihar) Nitish Kumar founded the Samta Party, a party primarily aimed at equality of social rights. Sanjay ji was greatly influenced by the principles of this party and ultimately his inclination towards the principles of Samata Party and social upliftment became the main reason for his active role in politics. He started his political career with Samata Party from the year 1995.

Political life 

Sanjay ji, associated with JDU for almost 14 years, joined Janata Dal United in the year 2006 as a common worker, but due to his ability, he was soon given the responsibility of the post of National Secretary. Along with this, in states like Delhi, Jharkhand, Punjab, Maharashtra, he was also in-charge on behalf of JDU. In the year 2011, Sanjay ji was given the post of National General Secretary by the party, during which he played an important role in implementing the policies and principles of JDU on the ground. In 2016, Nitish Kumar ji put the command of JDU youth wing in his hands due to his efficiency and influential ideology, since then he has been continuously active in the role of youth JDU national president and providing all opportunities for development to the youth.

Reasons to join Janata Dal United 

Regarding the hidden reasons behind joining JDU, Sanjay ji believes that Janata Dal United is the first party in the country, which does not promote familyism or dynasty. According to his statement, honorable Nitish ji gives prominence to the clean and developmental stream of politics, equality and discrimination in the society, keeping distance from social leprosy like untouchability and keeps the matter of common interest. Sanjay ji considers the active role of youth in politics as most important, he says that only youth have the power, which can build a progressive country. If the youth moves forward with determination, energetically, then a positive image of the country's politics will be created. He clearly believes that today there is no dearth of youth power in India, it just needs to be given a right and developed direction, and youth in JDU are given maximum opportunities to move forward.

Committed to remove social evils  

Sanjay ji continues to campaign against the evils growing in the society. He often campaigns against social evils like prohibition of liquor, dowry ban, child marriage, he believes that alcohol is like a Ravana, which blocks the path of development of youth and also affects the honor and respect of women. At the same time, due to this, the unit called the foundation of society, i.e. the family, also breaks down. Apart from this, Sanjay ji continues to run a movement against evils like dowry system and child marriage, so that the future of the girl child can be secured.

Helped in the development of youth JDU organization 

Sanjay ji's role in the expansion and organization of JDU youth wing has been a pioneer. Due to his clear and efficient style, he is most popular among young workers. He has been working for the organization even before taking over as the National President. In the year 2007, under the chairmanship of Sharad Yadav, against the price hike of FDI, diesel and LPG under Delhi state, he staged a sit-in protest at Jantar Mantar with the help of other activists and also gave arrest. Sanjay ji played an active role in the "Adhikar Rally" held in the year 2013 in getting the special status of Bihar, as well as he supported in the centenary festival. Apart from this, since taking over as the National President, he is seriously working towards the structure of a healthy society by ending social evils. In this episode, he has also run a campaign "Quit alcohol, drink milk" in Uttar Pradesh to make the youth aware.
